What is it about moonflowers?
Moonflowers are obviously beautiful, but also they are unique in that they bloom at night. Symbolically, I think of a soul blooming during its dark journey. Here’s a little (character-revealing) poem that I wrote a few years ago:
Dearest Moonflower
Tell me of your power
How you bloom at night
Seduced by the moon’s light
Are you slumbering in the day?
Does the sun frighten you away?
Do fairies dance on your heart-shaped leaves?
Can your petals cure the ill or bereaved?
Never mind. Keep your mystery
Truth and fantasy are all the same to me
Why can’t I leave a comment on your blog?
First of all, I appreciate you wanting to share your thoughts with me. I’m totally available via e-mail. I chose to close the comments on my blog mainly for my own time+energy conservation. It may change in the future, but for now, I believe I will serve the world better and get more accomplished this way.
Will you do a commissioned piece of art or jewelry for me?
I’m only taking on certain projects at this time. Please e-mail me at traceyleeduncan@yahoo.com with your request for either a painting or jewelry with the details, including your deadline. I’ll get back to you very soon and let you know what I’m able to do for you. Thank you so much!

How do you stay so positive?
Naturally, a measure of my personality is due to genetics. I grew up with a loving, quick-to-laugh, glass half-full mom and a laid-back, easy-to-please dad. We had our challenges, of course, yet I learned the value of focusing on what “good” can come out of a “problem.” Environment plays a role too. I surround myself with kind, wonderfully supportive people. I just do. I do not allow high-drama, negative, cynical, grouchy, or joy-sucking people into my life. I value my time and energy way too much for that. As far as day to day habits, I guard my thoughts. When a negative mindset comes up, I re-frame and re-center myself. It has taken years of practice and some days are easier than others, mind you. I strongly believe the more control we have on our minds, the more control we have in our lives. Peace!
